What are the benefits of a self-paced course? Courses are conducted entirely online. You do not have to GO anywhere to earn your units/credits. These distance learning courses are self-paced. They do not run on the semester schedule Instructor-Led courses do. These courses are open enrollment year-round to accommodate your schedule.

What are the requirements for a self-paced course? Each three-unit course has five online tests and one written assignment. One-unit courses have four tests.

What are the assignments? Each course has online tests the participant takes to prove competency in the subject area. Generally, there are five tests with 10 questions on each test. There is also one written assignment in each course.

When do I have to complete the course? You can work on these courses at your own pace, year-round. You have one year from the day you register to complete the course. When you complete your course you will automatically receive an e-mail completion letter. You then have the following options for further documentation, if needed:

Do I need special technology? Absolutely not! The system we use for the courses is Internet-based. All you need is a browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, AOL, etc.) and e-mail. THERE IS NOTHING TO DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL. If you can point and click, you can take the course!

What is the refund policy? The following policy applies to refunds for online courses:
• Within 48 hours of registration/No access or participation in course/Full refund
• After 48 hours of registration/No participation in course/Full refund LESS $25 processing
fee (only if refund request is within 60 days of registration)
• Participation in course/No refund
