Instructional Strategies for ELD and SDAIE (K-12)

You will learn how to use the into/through/beyond approach, which is a proven effective model for working with ELLs. Attention will be given to ELD and SDAIE strategies such as scaffolding, schema building, and reformatting text. Both formal and informal assessment methods will also be shared.
Managing and Integrating Technology into the Curriculum (K-12)
Do you have computers in your classroom that are not being used to their full potential? This course will focus on the management and integration issues teachers are struggling with such as: scheduling students for computer time, how to train students to use software, writing lessons that integrate technology, managing a technological classroom, finding excellent software and websites, and getting the most out of the one-computer classroom.
Designing and Creating Language Arts WebQuests (2-12)
This course will focus on teaching you how to design and create a language arts WebQuest to enhance and support the teaching of content curriculum. A step-by-step process will lead you through both the design and creation stage of the WebQuest. Excellent WebQuest examples will also be shared.
Using Microsoft Word in the Classroom (K-12)
Learn how to use Microsoft Word in your classroom for both the teaching and learning process. You will learn how to create many useful documents for your students and classroom. Find out how to quickly and easily create class newsletters, templates, and awards. You will also learn how to use Microsoft Word for classroom writing.
Using Microsoft Excel in the Classroom (3-12)
Learn how to use Microsoft Excel in your classroom for both the teaching and learning process. You will learn how to create many useful documents for your students and classroom. Exciting classroom activities using Excel will also be shared. Activities have an emphasis in mathematics.
Using Inspiration in the Classroom (K-12)
This course will focus on how to use Inspiration® in the classroom for both the teaching and the learning process. Teachers will learn how to use Inspiration® software to organize thinking, visualize and develop concepts, and easily construct diagrams and outlines to support students in the writing process. Exciting lesson plans in a variety of curriculum areas using Inspiration® will also be shared. (Note: You either need to own the Inspiration software or download a free trial in order to participate in this course. Directions to download the trial version are easy and provided in the course.)
